Troops to Engineers has made my transition from the military to the classroom so much smoother. The workshops and mentorship helped me rebuild my confidence as a student and an engineer. I know I’m not going through this journey alone, and having a community of veterans and industry partners has given me the motivation to keep pushing forward.

Before joining T2E, I didn’t realize how important networking was in engineering. The facility tours, industry panels, and career expos introduced me to professionals I never thought I’d have access to as a student. Those conversations have already led to internship opportunities and opened doors I wouldn’t have found on my own.

Being part of Troops to Engineers has reminded me of the camaraderie I had in the service, but working as a student assistant in the program gave me an even deeper perspective. I wasn’t just benefiting from T2E—I was helping run the workshops, facility tours, and events that open doors for other veterans like me. One of those tours directly led to my internship with General Atomics, proving how powerful the program’s connections really are. That experience strengthened my leadership, built my confidence, and gave me purpose while preparing me for my career.

T2E has given me the chance to practice the professional skills I’ll need after graduation—resume writing, interviewing, and communicating with employers. Every event I attend makes me feel more prepared and more confident in myself. It’s not just about academics anymore; it’s about building a future.

Troops to Engineers has been instrumental in helping me translate my military experience into the engineering world. Through the program’s professional development workshops and networking events, I’ve built the confidence and skills to take on opportunities like my internship with AV. T2E continues to give me the tools and support I need to grow as a student, a professional, and a future engineer.
